continuing

Great reception to Leave Home so far. The first review from XNPlay couldn't really have been better and this morning it was awarded with a solid [8/10] from Edge. Thanks to everyone who has tweeted, emailed, commented or written about the game.

Recorded a full single playthrough:

Anyone unlocked turbo mode yet?

Nope, no turbo yet. Played with max anger, that was pretty awesome.

Found this game last night. It was fantastic. Played it for about 3 hours straight.
Feel like you need a amazon donate button to give you a few more bucks.

My only real frustration is it seems like hitting all the blue chips in the very begining has a huge affect on my score. In fact the first min seems to supply more of my points than the next 4 mins. And the bosses don't really seem to supply that many points, but it might also be they are quite tough to kill.

But I love the game, wish there was a leaderboard so I could compete against friends.

I don't have turbo mode unlocked yet, but I've got everything else, and have all but the "destroy mofa no death" challenge completed. I am guessing you need to do that to unlock turbo mode? Not sure what that challenge means. Could it be you cannot die at all during the entire course of the game? I thought it was to kill the boss without dying on that stage, but I've done that several times already. Great game, and quite the different shooter, I almost did not buy it because it was a bit hard to grasp from the demo, but it's quite the fun diversion.

Alright, I did it, I beat the game without dying once, and man even the way I did it, was pretty nerve wracking. I'll give a hint as to how I did it, don't try for a high score when going for "destroy mofo no death" because it will just make it that much harder. So I have officially unlocked Turbo Mode, and yes it is tied to the challenge I was missing.

A truly exceptional game.
Congrats :)

Mother sure is a lot easier to kill than father, especially since you can manipulate father into impaling mother with his giant laser. I'm not sure if that's part of the metaphor. I just unlocked turbo mode. It's really hard to score.

I agree that I usually get most of my anger from the launch and most of my points from the first section, but that might be because I die more later. It's significantly easier to score on full difficulty because the multiplier is always maxed out. If you die on a normal runthrough, your anger lowers which can mean less things to shoot at and less chance to recover your anger.

The game is beautiful and a lot of fun to play. Will you be making any more 360 games?

I hear there's a Windows version of this some press have played. How is the split shot managed without an analog trigger?

The boss behaviour/metaphor is intentional. Working on the next 360 game now, 3-6 months. PC build (pretty flaky) does work with keys (split key = full depress of the trigger) but works better with 360 pad. Cheers.

Bought this game a couple weeks ago, was pointed to it via Penny Arcade. Played it for 4 or 5 hours straight that same afternoon. :)

I love space shooters, and the play time is perfect for me and my schedule, the initial 5 hour binge not withstanding of course. :) I love sitting down and doing a run or two in between other things.

I to would also like to donate a few bucks, if it will help get a Leave Home 2 made. ;)

Good job Matt! Just spotted that this was out after doing a quick run though of all my bookmarks and ending up here. Very nice game!
